Pro Kabaddi League 2019: Tamil Thailvas and UP Yodhas match ends in a thrilling tie
The match between Tamil Thailvas and UP Yodhas ended in a
28-28 thrilling tie played at Patliputra Sports Complex, Patna on Wednesday.
In the first half, the start was not great as both of raids
were empty. Tamil started the match on a great note as they earned a tackle and
raid point. Rishank Devadiga got the first
point for UP with a touchpoint and then with a tackle point to level the
scores at 2-2. with a touchpoint. UP were aggressive with raid points and their defense was strong enough. In
the last few minutes, Shabeer Bapu was tackled by Sumit and Tamil were all out.
At the end of the first half, UP Yodhas led 16-11.
It was a very close fought match in the 2nd half
as Ajay Thakur dismissed Nitesh Kumar to make it 12-16. Rishank Devidga was
tackled by Manjeet Chillar. Ajay Thakur provided the spark for Tamil taking 2
points to make it 15-16 in favor of UP Yodhas. UP Yodhas took the lead to 3
points as Amit got Mohit Chillar and Shabber Bapu to make it 18-15.
There were
empty raids by both teams. Rahul Chaudary was tackled by Surender Gill in do or
die raid to help UP Yodhas take a 21-16 lead. UP Yodhas were cruising towards a
big lead when Tamil made a strong comeback as Shabeer Bapu got Sumit and Amit
to reduce the gap to 20-23. UP Yodhas Nitish Kumar was the only raider left and
Tamil got all out to level scores at 23-23.
UP Yodhas took 2 points from a raid to make it 25-23. Tamil
scored 2 points from a raid and 1 point from a tackle to level the scores at
26-26. With 1 and half minutes to go, UP Yodhas earned a raid point from
Rishank to take a 28-27 lead. Ajay Thakur got Nitish Kumar in the final raid to
level the match at 28-28.
UP Yodhas and Tamil earned 13 points each. UP earned 12
tackle points as compared to 10 off Tamil. Both earned 2 all outs in the match.
With this draw, Yodhas are on 10 points while Tamil is at 5th place
with 15 points.
