Grenadine Divers versus Ford Charlotte Strikers
Grenadine Divers registered a comfortable 31 run win over
Ford Charlotte Strikers in the opening match of day 6 played at Arnos Vale
Sporting Complex, St Vincent on Wednesday.
Divers captain Asif Hooper won the toss and decided to bat
first. It was not an ideal start for Divers as they lost an early wicket of
Wayne Harper for 5. Asif Hooper and Alex Samuel played with positive intent
putting pressure on Charlotte bowlers. Keron Cottoy got the breakthrough taking
the wicket of Alex Samuel. Samuel and Hooper added 51 runs for the 2nd
wicket. Coming at number 4, Shem Browne hit a quickfire 13 off 6 balls with 2
sixes.
Strikers bowlers made a strong comeback into the match by
picking wickets. Divers posted a competitive total of 103 for 5 in 10 overs.
Kirton Lava was the pick of the bowlers with 2 for 11.
Chasing 104 runs to win, Gidron Pope looked in great touch while
Renrick Williams struggled for timing. Richie Richards got the breakthrough dismissing
Williams. Williams and Pope added 26 runs in 3.1 overs. Strikers failed to convert
a good start and struggled to score runs. Divers restricted Strikers to 72 for
6 in 10 overs. Divers won the match by 31 runs. Richie Richards was the pick of
the bowlers with 2 for 11.
Grenadine Divers 103 for 5 in 10 overs (Asif Hooper 29, Alex
Samuel 25, Kirton Lava 2/11) beat Fort Charlotte Strikers 72 for 6 in 10 overs
( Gidron Pope 18, Chelson Steve 11*, Richie Richards 2/11) by 31 runs.

Botanic Garden Rangers versus Dark View Explorers
In the 2nd match of the day, Botanic Garden
Rangers cruised to an easy 8 wicket win over Dark View Explorers played at
Arnos Vale Sporting Complex, St Vincent on Wednesday.
Dark View Explorers captain Lindon James won the toss and
decided to bat first. Deron Greaves and Shammon Hooper got the team off to a
flying start. Garden captain Kesrick Williams got the breakthrough dismissing
Greaves. Apart from Hooper 31, the rest of the Explorer batsmen struggled to
time the ball. Explorer posted 80 for 6 in 10 overs. For Garden, Kesrick, and Kimali
Williams took 2 wickets each.
Chasing 81 runs to win, Hyron Shallow and Oziko Williams made
an impressive start to the innings. Both put on 59 runs for the opening wicket
in 6 overs. S Williams got the breakthrough dismissing Shallow for 35. Oziko Williams
made 20 off 19 balls before being dismissed. Romel Currency and Atticus Browne
completed the job as Garden won the match by 8 wickets with 8 balls to spare.
Botanic Garden Rangers 86 for 2 in 8.4 overs (Hyron Shallow
35, Oziko Williams 20, Sealron Williams 1/15) beat Dark View Explorer 80 for 6
in 10 overs ( Shammon Hooper 31, Kesrick Williams 2/13, Kamli Williams 2/14) by
8 wickets.
With this win, Garden has moved to 8 points which is the same
as Hikers.
