Stats: West Indies all-rounder creates history in T20 format

West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo became the first bowler to pick up 500
wickets
Playing for Trinbago Knight Riders, Bravo grabbed the wicket
of Rakheem Cornwall of St Lucia Zouks in the 13th Match of CPL 2020
played at Queens Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad today. Bravo has been a
superstar playing overall leagues around the world.
Dwayne Bravo made his T20 debut in 2006. He has played for
West Indies and then 22 franchises around the world. So far, the all-round
features in 458 matches (439 innings) with 500 wickets at an economy of 8.26
runs per over. He has taken nine times four-wicket haul and twice five wickets
in the match.
Bravo has shown tremendous success in the Indian Premier
League journey. He has played for Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Lions.
The all-rounder is currently 5th in the all-time wicket-takers in
IPL. He has grabbed a total of 147 wickets from 134 matches (131 innings) at an
economy of 8.39 runs per over.
Bravo made his IPL debut for Mumbai Indians in 2008 and
played till 2010. He took 26 wickets from 30 matches with best figures of 3/34
in the 2009 edition. With the bat, he scored 457 runs from 30 matches with a career-best score of 70*.
He played for Trinidad and Tobago from 2012-2018. After that, he featured for Victoria from 2009/2010 and 2010/11 seasons. Bravo had a
successful career for Chennai Super Kings. He played for the best franchise in
IPL history from 2011-2015.
Bravo has won the Purple Cap twice in IPL. He took 32
wickets from 18 matches in the 2013 edition that is a record for most wickets
in a season. In the 2015 edition, Bravo took a total of 26 wickets from 16
matches.
He played for Sydney Sixers in 2011/12, Chittagong Vikings
in 2012, Melbourne Renegades in 2013-14, 2017/2018 in BBL, in PSL for Lahore
Qalandars in 2016-2017. After two years suspension of CSK, Bravo featured for
Gujarat Lions and his performance was not up to the mark.
He then played for Surrey, Dhaka Dynamites in 2016. He then
featured for Comilla Victorians in 2017, Middlesex, and Paarl Rocks in 2018. In
the 2018/19 season, Bravo was bought by Melbourne Renegades and Peshwar Zalmi.
In the 2019 edition of PSL, Bravo featured for Quetta Gladiators.
Bravo has performed brilliantly in BBL history. He played for 3 franchises from
2011 till 2019. During this period, he took a total of 49 wickets from 47
matches (45 innings) with the best figures of 5/28.
Bravo played a total of 71 matches (61 innings) and grabbed
59 wickets for West Indies in the T20I format. He was a part of the team winning
two ICC World T20I tournaments. During the Sri Lanka tour, Bravo made a
comeback into the squad.
After the two-year suspension, Bravo was bought by the CSK
franchise. His performance was not up to the mark apart from a brilliant knock
in the opening match of the 2018 edition against Mumbai Indians.
