Thanks to a brilliant knock by Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan register a consolation win in the 3rd and final T20I match played at McLean Park, Napier on Tuesday.

Pakistan captain Shahbad Khan won the toss and decided to bowl first. Kiwis openers Martin Guptill and Tim Seifert provided a flying start putting pressure on the Pakistani bowling. Haris Rauf got the breakthrough to dismiss Guptill with a simple catch to Shahbad Khan at mid-off. The Kiwis openers added 40 runs.

Faheem Ashraf troubled the Kiwis batsmen with his bowling. He got rid of dangerous Kane Williamson chopping onto the stumps. At the end of the first six overs, New Zealand made 47 for 2.

Tim Seifert continued his superb form in this series taking on the Pakistan bowlers. Ashraf got the big wicket of Seifert to leave Kiwis tottering at 58 for 3. Glenn Phillips came to the crease and struggled against Shahbad Khan. Pakistan took a review against Conway for LBW, but the decision remained not out as there was an inside edge. Phillips and Conway put the pressure back on the Pakistani batting line-up with attacking strokes.

Shaheen Shah Afridi provided the breakthrough dismissing Phillips. Phillips and Conway added 51 runs for the 4th wicket. Conway was struggling initially with his timing. Faheem Ashraf took his 3rd wicket by getting rid of James Neesham to put Kiwis on the backfoot. Conway upped the ante and showed his class and smashed 32 runs in the 18th and 19th overs. Scott Kugglein also played a cameo knock scoring 14 off 6 balls. Conway completed his fifty off 39 balls and kept the Kiwis gain momentum. He was eventually dismissed for 63 to help New Zealand post 173 for 7 in 20 overs.
