IPL 2021 Match 9: Sunrisers collapse to give Mumbai Indians a win
Mumbai Indians held their nerves to register a good win over
Sunrisers Hyderabad played at M Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai on Saturday.
Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided
to bat first. Rohit Sharma was in sublime touch hitting the ball well putting
pressure on SRH bowlers while Quinton de Kock struggled with his timing. At the
end of the first six overs, MI openers scored 53 for 0.
David Warner bought in Vijay Shankar into the attack and
delivered immediately getting the wicket of MI captain Rohit Sharma trying to
hit a big shot providing an easy catch to Virat Singh at deep midwicket ending
a strong 55 runs opening partnership. Rashid Khan troubled Quinton de Kock with
his variations. Vijay Shankar got his second wicket getting rid of Surya Kumar
Yadav taking a return catch on his follow-through. Mumbai Indians ended the
first timeout at 71 for 2.

dismiss Warner, but the decision was not out. Bairstow took the attack on Adam
Milne putting him under immense pressure. Warner also gave good support and
time the ball brilliantly. At the end of the first six overs, SRH scored 57 for
0. With that, the first timeout was called.

unfortunate manner as he stepped onto the wickets off Krunal Pandya’s bowling. Manish
Pandey's struggle continued providing an easy catch to Pollard at long-off. Virat
Singh making his debut along with Warner looked comfortable. A superb direct
throw ended in the run-out of Warner.
Rahul Chahar struck twice in one over getting rid of Virat
Singh and Abishek Sharma put enough pressure on the SRH batting line-up. Vijay Shankar
spanked two sixes off Rahul Chahar’s bowling. At the end of the second timeout,
SRH scored 120 for 5.
Abdul Samad fell short of the crease as Hardik Pandya
produced a superb direct throw. Boult produced a brilliant yorker to dismiss
Rashid Khan. SRH innings went into more trouble as Bumrah got the wicket of
well-set Vijay Shankar.
