Centuries scored in IPL 2021.
The Indian Premier League 2021 was suspended due to bio-bubble
breach with many players and support staff getting COVID. With 29 completed
games, there was some gripping action as most of the matches saw an exciting
battle going right down to the wire.
In this year’s IPL, 3 batsmen scored centuries that made the
audience enjoy the matches in their homes. It was an amazing performance by
these batsmen who showed domination and helped them win matches with their
superb batting display.
Here we look at the 3 centuries scored in IPL 2021
1.
Sanju Samson
The newly appointed captain Sanju Samson led from the front
and almost took RR to a famous win against Punjab Kings at Wankhede Stadium,
Mumbai on 12th April. Thanks to great knocks by Rahul, Deepak Hooda, and others, Punjab Kings posted a big total of 220 for 6.
Chasing 221 runs to win, Sanju Samson came after the early
fall of Manan Vohra’s wicket. Sanju was in sublime touch putting pressure on
the Punjab Kings bowlers hitting boundaries. Despite losing wickets, Samson
showed his class and completed his fifty off 33 balls. Jos Buttler, Shivam Dube, and Riyan Parag scored some valuable runs but Samson remained firm and started
to blast away Punjab Kings bowlers with an array of strokes. He put on a brilliant
display reaching his century off just 54 balls.
With 13 runs required off the final over, Sanju Samson did
not take a single and give strike to Chris Morris. Samson could not take RR to the
finishing line as he was caught at the boundary needing 5 runs off the last
ball. He made a brilliant 119 off 63 balls with 12 four and 7 sixes. His
brilliant knock led him to get the man of the match award.
2.
Devdutt Paddikal
The stylish left-handed Karnataka batsmen was in great mood
against Rajasthan Royals played at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on 22nd
April. Chasing down 178 runs to win, Paddikal started to blast away the RR
bowlers hitting them for boundaries. It was an amazing display by the youngster
and took the game away from the opposition in the power play overs.
Paddikal completed his fifty off just 27 balls while Kohli
gave him good support. Kohli struggled but then scored at a quick pace making life
tough for the opposition. Despite being dropped by Rahman, Paddikal kept on
hitting boundaries at will. Paddikal completed his first IPL century off 51
balls and remained not out. He smashed 11 boundaries and 6 sixes. For his
superb 101* from 52 balls, Paddikal was awarded the man of the match.
3.
Jos Buttler
The wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler produced a stunning
display of batting in their final match against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Arun
Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi on 2nd May. After being invited into bat

Buttler then showed his class and kept the pressure on the
SRH bowlers. The opener completed his fifty off 39 balls. He then upped the
ante with clean hitting not allowing the opposition bowlers to settle. It was
