As a result of good pressure, Spain earned two penalty corners but failed. Despite the Spanish team doing their best, the Indian defense was up to the mark and did not allow the Spain team to penetrate P Srjeesh. India ended the first half with a 2-0 lead.

Spain started off brilliantly in the 3rd quarter but the Indian defense was solid enough. Miguel Dalas received a yellow card for an additional player. Mandeep Singh tried his best to convert a goal but was well blocked by the Spanish defense. The Spanish team was full strength but could not penetrate Indian defense. In the dying minutes of the 3rd quarter, Spain was awarded a penalty corner as the hooter went off. There was no drama as India averted to end the 3rd quarter at 2-0.
