Australia announce squad for World T20, big names return

 Australia became the 2nd team after New Zealand to announce its squad for the prestigious World T20 starting from 23rd October 2021.

Many top stars who did not take part in the T20I series against West Indies and Bangladesh away from home has been included. Australia will be led by Aaron Finch will be looking to showcase their prowess.

David Warner, Steve Smith, Marcus Stoinis all makes a comeback into the squad after missing series against West Indies and Bangladesh. Mitchell Marsh in great form seals his place. The main surprise was Josh Inglis performed brilliantly during the 2020/21 BBL season for Perth Scorchers.

The batting department consists of David Warner, Finch, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Marsh, Josh Inglis, and Matthew Wade. Australian pace battery looks in great shape as Pat Cummins makes a comeback into the side along with Kane Richardson missing the T20I series against West Indies and Bangladesh. Other pace bowlers on the side include Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood.

Mitchell Swepson, Ashton Agar, Adam Zampa are the three spin bowling options for Australia in the tournament.  

The experienced Daniel Christian, Nathan Ellis, and Daniel Sams has been added as reserves. It looks like a strong unit as they would be looking to win their first World T20 tournament.

Australian T20 side has been going through a rough patch in T20Is losing to West Indies by 1-4 and then outplayed by Bangladesh by 1-4 away from home. They have been placed in the group of death along with England, West Indies, South Africa, and two qualifiers. Australia starts their journey on 23rd October against South Africa.

With the likes of top guns, the Australian Cricket Team would be looking to improve on their record in T20I World Cups. They reached the only finals in the 2010 World Cup.
