Stats: Jason Holder becomes first West Indies bowler in T20Is to take hattrick
The World number 10th ranked T20I side West Indies stunned World number 1 England in the deciding match of the series played at Bridgetown, Barbados on Sunday.
West Indies captain Kieron Pollard won the toss and decided
to bat first. Kyle Mayers and Brandon King gave the hosts a decent start putting
pressure back on the England bowlers. Mayers looked in sensational form while
King took some time to settle. After a decent opening partnership of 59 runs,
Romario Shepard was promoted at number 3 but failed to contribute any runs.
Despite losing quick wickets, the captain Kieron Pollard and
Rovman Powell led West Indies recovery putting pressure on England bowlers.
Thanks to their unbeaten 74 runs partnership for the 5th wicket, the
hosts posted 179 for 4 in 20 overs.
It was an amazing night for Jason Holder who grabbed his career-best T20I figures. He grabbed the wicket of stand-in captain Moeen Ali cheaply.
With 20 runs required off the last over, Holder took wickets Chris Jordan, Sam Billings, and Adil Rashid to become the first West Indies bowler to take hattricks in T20Is.
He then finished off the game with the wicket of Saqib Mahmood bowling out
England for 162.
Holder also joined in the list to pick 4 wickets off 4
deliveries in international cricket. Lasith Malinga, Rashid Khan, Curtis Campher.

lengths.

defending Champions West Indies was not given a chance against a strong England
T20I side. West Indies also looked out of sorts in the World T20 tournament
played in UAE last year as they could not go past the group stages.
