Josh Hazlewood struck to get rid of Shubman Gill thanks to a special one-handed catch by Glenn Maxwell at slips.

Matthew Wade showed intent to put enough pressure on RCB bowlers. Wade was left frustrated as he decided to review the decision, but it was upheld. At the end of the first six overs, GT made 38 for 2. Hardik Pandya came at number 4 and took few balls making life tough for RCB bowlers. A sensational piece of a direct hit by Faf du Plessis resulted in the run-out of Saha. With that wicket, the first timeout was called at 62 for 3.

Prabhudessai dropped a simple chance to get rid of Hardik Pandya. Harshal Patel went off the field due to an injury to his right hand. David Miller and Pandya put enough pressure on RCB bowlers showing intent, especially Miller. At the end of the second timeout, GT ended at 122 for 3.
