Michael Bracewell become third Kiwi bowler to grab hattrick in T20Is

 The off-spinner Michael Bracewell became the third New Zealand bowler to grab a hattrick in the T20I format. He achieved this feat during the 2^nd match of the series against Ireland played in Belfast on 20^th July 2022.

Thanks to Dane Clever's unbeaten 78, Finn Allen 35, and Glenn Phillips quickfire 23 off 16 balls helped New Zealand post a competitive total of 179 for 4 in 20 overs. The visitors kept picking wickets at regular intervals not allowing Ireland batters to score runs easily.

Bracewell bowled his first over in T20Is and took 3 wickets in succession. He took wickets of Mark Adair, Barry McCarthy, and Craig Young in the 14^th over to bowl out Ireland for paltry total of 91. Bracewell ended with figures of 3 for 5. New Zealand registered 88 runs win and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match T20I series against host Ireland.

For his unbeaten 78 off 55 balls, Dane Clever was named the man of the match award. It was a dominating performance by the New Zealand team as Ish Sodhi and Bracewell grabbed 3 wickets each while Jacob Duffy took 2 and Lockie Ferguson grabbed 1 wicket.

Jacob Oram became the first New Zealand bowler to take a hat trick in the T20I format. He achieved this feat against Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on 2^nd September 2009. During his spell, he dismissed Angelo Mathews, Malinga Bandara, and Nuwan Kulasekara. As a result of a brilliant spell, New Zealand won that match.

Tim Southee also joined in the hattrick club as he took 3 wickets in succession against Pakistan at Eden Park, Auckland on 26^th December 2010. He grabbed Younis Khan, Mohammed Hafeez, and Umar Akmal. New Zealand won that match because of his brilliance.
