All you need to know about the South Africa versus England 2022 Test series

South Africa will take on England in a 3-match Test series starting from 17th August 2022. This series would be part of the 2021/23 ICC Test Championship cycle. South Africa currently holds the number 1 position in the points table after Australia lost to Sri Lanka in the 2nd Test match played at Galle International Stadium.

On the other hand, England are high on confidence as they defeated New Zealand and the Indian team chasing down big targets. It promises to be a brilliant Test series with top-quality batting and bowling from each side. Under the captaincy of Ben Stokes, England has completely changed its attitude toward batting.

England chased down big targets of 277, 296, and 299 runs in the 3-match Test series against New Zealand. The hosts again produced a magical chase of 378 runs against a top-quality Indian bowling side to level the series at 2-2.

South Africa would be looking to gain confidence after a series win over India and Bangladesh at home. They drew their series against New Zealand away from home this year.

Under the captaincy of Elgar, South Africa are currently at 71.43 percent and would be looking to consolidate its position. The last time South Africa visited England, England registered a 3-1-win series win.

Due to Bazeball approach, England made chasing easy and it will be interesting to see if the hosts can continue their winning momentum against top-quality South Africa bowling.
