All you need to know about teams of Asia Cup 2022

 The much-anticipated Asia Cup 2022 starts with Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan being clubbed in Group A while India, Pakistan and UAE, Singapore, Kuwait, and Hong Kong will feature along with both teams.

It promises to be an exciting tournament with India being the most successful team in Asia Cup history with 7 titles. Indian team is currently the defending Champions of this prestigious tournament played in 50 over format during the 2018 edition. 

The tournament will be played in the United Arab Emirates. Sri Lanka and Afghanistan have not yet announced their squads for this prestigious tournament.

Each team would play the other once before the top two teams will reach the Super 4 stage. India and Pakistan are likely to qualify, while the other group will be a tough fight. In the Super 4 stage, each team will play once before the top two teams would feature in the finals on 11th September.

India

Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the Asia Cup after suffering a back injury.

Pakistan

Bangladesh

Bangladesh announced its Asia Cup after the BCB extended the request. Shakib AL Hasan has been named the captain after the Tigers lost to Zimbabwe by 1-2.

Asia Champions Trophy 2024: India Enters Finals With Commanding Win

  The defending Champions India registered a commanding win in the 2 nd semi-finals against South Korea of the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 played in Hulunbir, Inner Mongolia on 16 th September. Indian team began the first quarter on a good note with Abhishek's reverse flick shot saved by Korean goalkeeper Kim Jahean. After the initial domination, a superb pass by Arijit with a goal by Uttam Singh in the 13 th minute to give India a 1-0 lead. Soon after, Korea’s two penalty corners before the third penalty corner as the shot hits Sumit’s body.   At the end of the first quarter, India led 1-0.   The defending Champions England qualified for the semi-finals with a thrashing of the USA in a must-win game played at Kensington Oval, Barbados on 23 rd June 2024. England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to field first. Reece Topley struck in the first over dismissing Andries Gous with a simple catch to Salt. Nitish Kumar and Steve Taylor steadied the ship for the USA. Sam Curran dismissed Steve Taylor caught by Moeen Ali. Taylor and Nitish Kumar added 34 runs for the 2 nd wicket.
