Ranji Trophy Round 5 matches

 The stage is set as the 2022/23 Ranji Trophy matches will take place from tomorrow onwards in various cities of the country.

Here we look at the Schedule and points table after Round 4

Group A

Bengal versus Baroda (Bengal Cricket Academy Ground, West Bengal)

Haryana versus Nagaland (Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium, Rohtak)

Himachal Pradesh versus Odisha (Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium, Nadun)

Uttar Pradesh versus Uttarakhand (Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium, Lucknow)

Uttarakhand still occupies the top spot with 1 point against Bengal in the last game. Bengal moves to 19 points with 1st innings lead over Uttarakhand. It promises to be another exciting round of matches as both teams would look to continue dominate Group A.

 

Group B

Assam versus Mumbai (Amingaon Cricket Ground, Guhwati)

Delhi versus Andhra Pradesh (Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi)

Hyderabad versus Saurashtra (Gymkhana Stadium, Hyderabad)

Maharashtra versus Tamil Nadu (MCA Stadium, Pune)

Saurashtra moved to the top spot with commanding innings and 214 runs against Delhi. With that win, Jaydev Unadkat led the side moved to 19 points. Mumbai and Maharashtra earned the first-innings lead in their respective matches. Mumbai earned 3 points against Tamil Nadu while Maharashtra earned 3 points against Assam.

 

Group C

Chhattisgarh versus Jharkhand (Keenan Stadium, Jharkhand)

Goa versus Puducherry (Goa Cricket Association Cricket Ground, Porovim)

Kerala versus Services (ST Xavier College Ground, Thumba, Thirvuamphtuam)

Karnataka versus Rajasthan (KSCA Cricket Ground, Alur)

Karanakta moved to the top of Group C with a resounding 7-wicket win over Chhattisgarh. Rajasthan ended the fourth round in 2nd place with 13 points.

Group D

Railways versus Tripura ( Lalabhai Contractor Stadium, Surat)

Madhya Pradesh versus Gujarat ( Holkar Cricket Stadium, Indore)

Chandigarh versus Vidarbha (Sector 16 Stadium, Chandigarh)

Punjab versus Jammu and Kashmir (IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali)

 

The defending Champions Madhya Pradesh continues to occupy the top spot with their 4th successive outright win over Vidarbha by 205 runs.

The fight for the second spot continues as Gujarat currently occupies the second spot with 14 points while Punjab is on 13. Punjab thrashed Gujarat by 380 runs in the last match.
