Pak vs Bang: Pak Announce 12 For The Second Test

Pakistan named their playing 12 for the second Test match of the series against Bangladesh to be played at Rawalpindi on 30th August 2024.

The hosts Pakistan would be looking to make a comeback and level the series after a disappointing 10-wicket loss in the first test match.

Abdullah Shafique and Saim Ayub would open the innings for Pakistan. Captain Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan &Salman Ali Agha would consist of middle-order batters. Mohammad Rizwan had a great outing, scoring 171 and 51 in both innings of the first test.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was dropped from the second test picking up 2 wickets in the entire match. Naseem Shah, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Ali, & Mir Hamza would be pace bowling options included in 12.

Abrar Ahmed has been included in the playing XI. It will be interesting to see wheatear Pakistan goes with 4 pacers or includes Abrar Ahmed in the playing XI for the second Test match.

Pakistan hopes to level the series

The Pakistan Cricket Team would be hoping to level the series after a disappointing loss in the first test match. Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel scored big runs to help Pakistan declare their innings on 448 for 6. It was a horrible bowling performance with the likes of Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Khurram Shahzad, Mohammad Ali and Salman Ali Agha giving 565 runs in the first innings.

Pakistan’s batting in the second innings collapsed bundled out for 146. Rizwan was the top scorer with 51 while the rest of the batting order struggled. This is an important test match for Pakistan in the 2023-25 ICC World Test championship cycle.

  The defending Champions India registered a commanding win in the 2 nd semi-finals against South Korea of the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 played in Hulunbir, Inner Mongolia on 16 th September. Indian team began the first quarter on a good note with Abhishek's reverse flick shot saved by Korean goalkeeper Kim Jahean. After the initial domination, a superb pass by Arijit with a goal by Uttam Singh in the 13 th minute to give India a 1-0 lead.   The defending Champions England qualified for the semi-finals with a thrashing of the USA in a must-win game played at Kensington Oval, Barbados on 23 rd June 2024. England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to field first. Reece Topley struck in the first over dismissing Andries Gous with a simple catch to Salt. Nitish Kumar and Steve Taylor steadied the ship for the USA. Sam Curran dismissed Steve Taylor caught by Moeen Ali. Taylor and Nitish Kumar added 34 runs for the 2 nd wicket. It was a disciplined bowling effort by the England bowlers as they kept picking wickets at regular intervals. Sam Curran struck to dismiss Harmeet Singh.
