The Indian
Cricket Team will host New Zealand in a three-match Test series starting from
16th October at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. Under the
captaincy of Rohit Sharma, they would look to continue their domination at home
and step closer to the ICC World Test championship finals to be played in June
2025.
Indian team
decimated Bangladesh with a 2-0 margin. They are currently at the top of the
ICC Test Championship 2023-25 points table. On the other hand, New Zealand would
look to bounce back from their 0-2 loss in the away test series against Sri
Lanka.
The Last
time New Zealand visited India for a test series in 2021, India won the 2-match
Test series by 1-0. The first test match at Green Park, Kanpur ended in a draw
where Rachin Ravindra and Ajaz Patel defended keeping India at bay. It was a
dominating performance by the Indian team in the 2nd test at Wankhede
Stadium, Mumbai winning by a massive 372 runs.
Indian team
would look to play attacking cricket in the entire series and inch closer to
the finals of the WTC for the third successive time.
