Pak vs Eng 2nd Test 4th Day: Nauman Ali And Sajid Khan Leads Pakistan’s Famous Win
Pakistan
registered their first-ever test win at home since 2021 as they defeated
visitors England by 152 runs of the 2nd test match played at Multan
Cricket Stadium, Multan on 18th October 2024.
Starting on
the overnight score of 36 for 2, it was not an ideal start for the visitors as
Sajid Khan dismissed Ollie Pope with a simple return catch. Joe Root could not
resist his temptation of a sweep shot and was given out LBW by Nauman Ali. The
England batters struggled against Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan.
Nauman Ali
produced another magical ball getting rid of Harry Brook. Harry Brook was given
out by the umpire and retained as out due to the umpire’s call. Nauman then
dismissed Jamie Smith with a simple catch to Shan Masood at mid-on to leave
England in deep trouble.
Nauman Ali
then deceived Ben Stokes with a simple stumping by Mohammad Rizwan. Brydon
Carse was given out by the umpire; on review it was overturned to not missing
the leg stump. Nauman showed his class getting the wicket of Carse with a
simple catch to Salman Ali Agha at slips. Stokes and Carse put on 37 runs for
the 7th wicket.
Nauman
produced the magic dismissing Jack Leach and Shoaib Bashir to bundle out
England for just 144. It was a superb bowling performance by Nauman Ali
grabbing 8 wickets for 46. Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan took all 20 wickets in the
entire match.
This was
Pakistan’s first test win at home since their victory over South Africa in
Rawalpindi.
For his 9
wickets and 22 runs in the second innings, Sajid Khan was named the player of
the match award. The series is equal at 1-1 with one match to spare.
The final
and deciding test match will be at Rawalpindi from 24th October
2024.

366 in 123.3 overs (Kamran Ghulam 118, Rizwan 41, Jamal 37, Leach 4/114, Carse
3/50) and 221 in 59.2 overs (Salman Ali Agha 63, Shoaib Bashir 4/66, Leach
3/67) beat England 291 in 67.2 overs (Ben Duckett 114, Sajid Khan 7/111, Nauman
Ali 3/101) and 144 for 33.3 overs (Ben Stokes 37, Nauman Ali 8/46, Sajid Khan
2/93) by 152 runs.
Pakistan won the 2nd test against England by 152 runs.
