England Tour Of India T20I Series 2025: All You Need To Know

The England Cricket Team will face hosts India in a mouth-watering 5-match T20I series starting on 22nd January onwards. Brendon McCullum has taken over the coaching of the white-ball set-up.

These matches will be played on placid batting pitches which could witness attacking cricket from both sides. Both teams played a total of 24 T20I matches with India winning 13 while England won 11 matches so far.

The Indian Cricket team registered a thumping win over England in the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2024 played at Providence Stadium, Guyana. It promises to be an exciting contest between two powerhouses of T20I cricket.

Indian team would be high on confidence as they had a dominating performance in the T20I series against South Africa in South Africa last year.

The focus will be on Mohammed Shami who will be returning to the Indian squad after recovering from the injury that he suffered during the 2023 World Cup played in India. For England, Jofra Archer is also making a comeback in the squad.

Asia Champions Trophy 2024: India Enters Finals With Commanding Win

  The defending Champions India registered a commanding win in the 2 nd semi-finals against South Korea of the Asian Champions Trophy 2024 played in Hulunbir, Inner Mongolia on 16 th September. Indian team began the first quarter on a good note with Abhishek's reverse flick shot saved by Korean goalkeeper Kim Jahean. After the initial domination, a superb pass by Arijit with a goal by Uttam Singh in the 13 th minute to give India a 1-0 lead. Soon after, Korea’s two penalty corners before the third penalty corner as the shot hits Sumit’s body.   At the end of the first quarter, India led 1-0.   The defending Champions England qualified for the semi-finals with a thrashing of the USA in a must-win game played at Kensington Oval, Barbados on 23 rd June 2024. England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to field first. Reece Topley struck in the first over dismissing Andries Gous with a simple catch to Salt. Nitish Kumar and Steve Taylor steadied the ship for the USA. Sam Curran dismissed Steve Taylor caught by Moeen Ali. Taylor and Nitish Kumar added 34 runs for the 2 nd wicket. It was a disciplined bowling effort by the England bowlers as they kept picking wickets at regular intervals. Sam Curran struck to dismiss Harmeet Singh.
