Badminton Asia Championships 2025: Indian Shuttlers Participation

The Badminton Asia Championship 2025 will see the top Asian shuttlers taking part in the prestigious tournament starting from 8th April in Ningbo Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium, Ningbo.

It will be a tough challenge for the Indian shuttlers as they are struggling for form this year so far. HS Prannoy, Kiran George, Pranshu Rajawat, and Lakshya Sen will be taking part in the men’s singles section.

HS Prannoy will face Lu GZ of China in the first round. Lakshya Sen would take on Lee C-h of Chinese Taipei. Sen will look to prove his worth with a top-quality performance against the 2025 All England Badminton Championship silver medalists. Pranshu Rajawat will take on Wangchareon of Thailand in the first round.

The women’s singles will see PV Sindhu, Malvika Bansod, Akarshi Kashyap, Anupama Upadhyaya in action. It will be a tough challenge for the likes of Kashyap, Anupama & Malvika Bansod. Kashyap would take on Han Yue of China while Anupama would face Intanon of Thailand.

Malvika Bansod will take on Gao F J of China in the first round. PV Sindhu has a slight easier first round facing Wardoyo of Indonesia.

The men’s doubles section will miss the services of Satwik/Chirag Shetty not taking part in the tournament as Chirag Shetty suffered a back injury during the second round of the All-England Badminton Championship 2025.

P Roy/KS Prateek will take on Chiu H-c/Wang C-I of Chinese Taipei in the first round. H Amsakarunan/Rethinasabapthi will face from B1.

The women’s doubles section will face Tressa Jolly/Gayatri Gopichand take on from B1. P Konjenbgam/ S Mishra would take on Sung S-y/Yu C-h of Chinese Taipei in the first round.

There are 4 pairs taking part in the mixed doubles section. A Surya/A Pramutesh, Dhruv Kapila/Tanisha Crasto, S Karunakaran/A Variyath & Rohan Kapoor/Shivani Gadde will take part.

Malaysia Open 2025 Day 3: Disappointing Outing For Indian Shuttlers

  The Indian shuttlers had a disappointing outing as only one of them made it into the quarterfinals of the Super 1000 Malaysia Open 2025 played at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur on 9 th January. HS Prannoy, women’s doubles pair of Tressa Jolly suffered narrow losses while Bansod, mixed doubles pair of Crasto/Kapila, and other pair lost in a one-sided affair. Tressa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand suffered a heartbreaking loss to Jia Ya Fan and Zhang of China in three thrilling games. The Indian pair struggled in the initial phases of the first game trailing by 3-6 before taking 7 points in succession to put the pressure back on the Chinese pair. At the mid-game interval, the Indians had an 11-7 lead. Singapore Open 2025: Round 1 Results of Indian Shuttlers

  The Indian shuttlers had a disappointing day with only 2 of them progressing into the second of the Super 750 Singapore Open 2025 played on 27 th May. PV Sindhu eased past WY Zhang of Canada in two straight games. It was a dominating performance by former World champion putting the opponent under immense pressure. She won the match with a dominating scoreline of 21-14, 21-9 to move into the second round. It will be tough ask as Sindhu will face Chen Yu Fei of China. HS Prannoy stuns Rasmus Gemke in three thrilling games. It was a close fought start in the first before Prannoy showed domination putting pressure on the Danish. Prannoy looked impressive with 17-10 lead before Gemke showed great attacking skills to level the scores at 17-17. The Danish player put Prannoy under pressure winning the first game by 21-19.
