Indonesia Open 2025: Indian Shuttlers Participation

The third Super 1000 event of the year, Indonesia Open will begin from tomorrow onwards with top Indian shuttlers looking to regain form.

Lakshya Sen will face the top seed Shi Y Q in the first round. He has been struggling since losing in the bronze medal of the Paris Olympics. Sen retired in the third game during first round match of Singapore Open against Lin C Y of Chinese Taipei.

HS Prannoy faces hosts A Farhan in the first round. He will look show glimpses and go ahead in the tournament.

Kiran George suffered first round loss during Singapore Open 2025. He will face Loh Kiean Yew of Singapore.

The women’s section will see PV Sindhu takes on Nozomi Okhuara in the first round. She showed glimpses before going down in three sets to Chen Yu Fei in second round of Singapore Open.

Anupama Upadhyay has tough ask ahead as she faces Kim G-Eun of South Korea in the first round.

Malvika Bansod will face Kusuma Wardani of Indonesia in the first round. It will be an interesting battle to see two young shuttlers facing each other.

Santosh Ramraj will face higher ranked Kathenong of Thailand. Ramraj would look to provide some fight against her.

Satwik/Chirag Shetty would look to build confidence from semi-finals of Singapore Open 2025. They will face Carnando and Maulana of Indonesia.

The women’s doubles section will see Tressa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand face Fukushima and Matsumoto of Japan in the first round. It would be tough battle for the Indian pairing.

In the mixed doubles section, S Karunakaran/A Variyath will face Ye HW and NG Chan in the first round. It promises to be a closely fought contest.

Rohan Kapoor/Shivani Gadde will take on Shimogami and Hobara of Japan. The Indian pairing needs to play attacking badminton against the Japanese pairing to have chances of making into next round.

A Surya/A Pramutesh will take on Veestgaard and C Busch of Denmark in the first round. It promises to be a good contest.

Dhruv Kapila/Tanisha will look to move away from the first-round exit in the Singapore Open 2025. They would face Chen TJ and Toh E W of Malaysia in first round.

Malaysia Open 2025 Day 3: Disappointing Outing For Indian Shuttlers

  The Indian shuttlers had a disappointing outing as only one of them made it into the quarterfinals of the Super 1000 Malaysia Open 2025 played at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur on 9 th January. HS Prannoy, women’s doubles pair of Tressa Jolly suffered narrow losses while Bansod, mixed doubles pair of Crasto/Kapila, and other pair lost in a one-sided affair. Tressa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand suffered a heartbreaking loss to Jia Ya Fan and Zhang of China in three thrilling games. The Indian pair struggled in the initial phases of the first game trailing by 3-6 before taking 7 points in succession to put the pressure back on the Chinese pair. At the mid-game interval, the Indians had an 11-7 lead. Singapore Open 2025: Round 1 Results of Indian Shuttlers

  The Indian shuttlers had a disappointing day with only 2 of them progressing into the second of the Super 750 Singapore Open 2025 played on 27 th May. PV Sindhu eased past WY Zhang of Canada in two straight games. It was a dominating performance by former World champion putting the opponent under immense pressure. She won the match with a dominating scoreline of 21-14, 21-9 to move into the second round. It will be tough ask as Sindhu will face Chen Yu Fei of China. HS Prannoy stuns Rasmus Gemke in three thrilling games. It was a close fought start in the first before Prannoy showed domination putting pressure on the Danish. Prannoy looked impressive with 17-10 lead before Gemke showed great attacking skills to level the scores at 17-17. The Danish player put Prannoy under pressure winning the first game by 21-19.
