IND A W versus Aus A W ODI Series: India A Women Seal The Series with A Thrilling Win
The Indian
A Women’s team showed their fighting skills as they defeated Australia A side
in a thrilling 2nd One-day international match played at Ian Healy
Oval, Brisbane on 15th August 2025.
Australia A
captain Tahila McGrath won the toss and decides to bat first. It was not an
ideal start for the hosts as Tahila Wilson was dismissed cheaply by Titas
Sadhu. Racheal Trenmann and the experienced Alyssa Healy steadied the ship
keeping the momentum going taking singles and hitting boundaries with ease.
Minnu Mani dismissed
Trenmann with a good delivery to break 58 runs partnership between Alyssa Healy
and Trenmann. Australia A captain Tahila McGrath could not contribute dismissed
cheaply for 15 while Alyssa Healy looked impressive. Healy and Tahila McGrath
added 36 runs for the 3rd wicket.
Alyssa
Healy showed her intent keeping the scoreboard ticking while Anika Learoyd and
Nicole Faltum could not contribute. Alyssa Healy was dismissed for well-made 91
off 87 balls.
Ellya
Hayward and Kim Garth steadied the ship for Australia A side with a solid 38
runs partnership for the 7th wicket. Kim Garth played a lovely knock
remaining not out on 41 helping Australia A post 265 for 9 in 50 overs. For
India A, Minnu Mani was the pick of bowlers with 3 for 46 in 10 overs, Saima
Thakor 2 for 30, Titas Sadhu, Radha Yadav, Prema Rawat and Tanuja Kanwar took 1
wicket each.
Chasing 266
runs to win, India A team got off to a worst possible start losing 2 early
wickets of Shafali Varma and Dhara Gujjar. Yastika Bhatia looked in decent
touch putting pressure on Australia A bowlers while Tejal Hasabins remained
cautious.
Tejal
Hasabins and Yastika Bhatia put on 47 runs for the 3rd wicket before
Hasabins and Raghvi Bisht fell cheaply in quick succession to leave India A in
trouble at 83 for 4.
Yastika
Bhatia and captain Radha Yadav steadied the India A batting keeping the
scoreboard ticking. Yastika showed her batting skills reaching her fifty off 55
balls to keep India A in the hunt for the chase. Bhatia’s superb innings ended bowled
by Prestwidge for 66 off 71 balls. Yastika and Radha Yadav added 68 runs for
the 5th wicket.
Radha Yadav
and Tanuja Kanwar steadied the ship after losing sixth wicket of Minnu Mani.
The captain Radha looked impressive before was caught at deep midwicket to
leave India A in trouble at 193 for 7. Radha and Tanuja Kanwar put on 36 runs
for the 7th wicket.
Tanuja
Kanwar and Prema Rawat displayed great courage hitting boundaries and kept the
strike rotating with ease. Tanuja played attacking shots to keep Australia A
bowlers under pressure.
The match
went right down the wire as Kanwar was dismissed for 50 caught by McGrath at
mid-off. Kanwar and Prema Rawat added 68 runs for the 8th wicket.
Prema Rawat
hit the winning runs as India A Women’s team won by 2 wickets with 1 ball
remaining. Rawat and Tanuja played quality bowlers of Darcie Brown and Kim
Garth keeping the momentum after being in deep trouble.
The India A
Women’s side sealed the 3 match ODI series at 2-0 with one game to spare. The
third ODI will be played on 17th August 2025.
India A
Women 266 for 8 in 49.5 overs (Yastika Bhatia 66, Radha Yadav 60, Amy Edgar
2/55, Ella Hayward 2/57) beat Australia A Women 265 for 9 in 50 overs (Alyssa
Healy 91, Kim Garth 41*, Minnu Mani 3/46) by 2 wickets.
