China Masters 2025: PV Sindhu Loses To Nemesis, Satwik/Chirag Enter Semi-Finals

The quarterfinals day action saw PV Sindhu lose to An Se Young while Satwik/Chirag Shetty produced a dominating performance entering the semi-finals of the Super 750 China Masters played at Shenzhen Arena, China on 19th September 2025.

PV Sindhu suffered her 8th successive loss to An Se Young of South Korea in straight games. The star Indian shuttler looked out of sorts right from the word go as An kept piling pressure with smashes and drop shots. At the mid-game break, An led 11-5.

After the interval, Young looked in complete control not allowing any chances for PV Sindhu winning first game comfortably by 21-14.

The second game began on an even keel with both players fighting for each point till 7-7. Young showed her class putting Sindhu under pressure with smashes and drop shots to take a 11-7 lead at the break. After the interval, it was one-way traffic as Young showed her class to win comfortably by 21-13 to move into the semi-finals. She would look to continue her good form in the upcoming tournaments.

The men’s doubles pairing of Satwik/Chirag Shetty continued their sensational form with a straight game win over Ren XY and Xie HN of China. The Indian pairing raced away to 7-0 lead right from the word go putting the Chinese under immense with their smashes.

Satwik/Chirag looked in complete command with 11-5 lead at the break. After the interval, the Indian pairing continued to play attacking badminton not allowing any chances for Ren and Xie winning the first game comfortably by 21-14.

The second game was a closely fought affair with both pairs taking alternate points. Satwik/Chirag upped their game putting pressure on the Chinese with 11-9 lead at the break. After the interval, it was one-way traffic as they made life tough for hosts team winning with same scoreline of 21-14 to move into the semi-finals.

Satwik/Chirag will play the winner of Aaron Chia & Soh Wi Yik of Malaysia or LR Carnando and Maulana of Indonesia in the semi-finals tomorrow.

ICC Women’s World T20: India to meet Australia in the finals

The Indian Women’s Cricket reached their maiden T20 World finals after the first semi-finals against England was abandoned due to rain played at Sydney Cricket Ground, SCG on Thursday. Harmanpreet Kaur led side finished top of Pool A winning all their matches. It is a great achievement for the Indian women’s team as they performed brilliantly in the league stages. India started the group stunning the defending Champions Australia by 17 runs in the opening match played at Sydney Showground Stadium, Sydney on 21 st February.   The Indian shuttlers had a disappointing outing as only one of them made it into the quarterfinals of the Super 1000 Malaysia Open 2025 played at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur on 9 th January. HS Prannoy, women’s doubles pair of Tressa Jolly suffered narrow losses while Bansod, mixed doubles pair of Crasto/Kapila, and other pair lost in a one-sided affair. Tressa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand suffered a heartbreaking loss to Jia Ya Fan and Zhang of China in three thrilling games.
