Arctic Open 2025: Good Start For Indian Shuttlers

The two Indian shuttlers including Dhruv Kapila/Tanisha Crasto and young sensation Anmol Kharb entered into round of the Super 500 Arctic Open played in Finland on 7th October 2025.

Mixed Doubles pairing of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto cruised past their French opponents L Renoir and C Poginate in a dominating two straight game victory. They returned after recovering from an injury looking in sublime touch putting pressure winning with a comfortable scoreline of 21-9, 21-7 to move into the second round. They will face O Titov and Kantemyr of Ukraine.

Anmol Kharb produced the biggest upset defeating the sixth seeded Lin H T of Chinese Taipei in three games. The first game was a closely fought affair with both players fighting for each point. It ebbed and flowed right till the end before Kharb held onto her nerves to win the first game at 23-21.

Lin produced a dominating display in the second putting Kharb under pressure. She looked in great touch not allowing any chances for her winning it easily by 21-11 to force the match into the decider.

Kharb showed great spirit playing attacking badminton and won with a scoreline of 21-18 to move into round 2. The youngster looked impressive with her stroke play not allowing higher ranked Lin under immense pressure and winning the match eventually.

The likes of Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth, Kiran George, Tarun Mannellapli, S Subramanian, Tanya Hemanth will play their first round matches tomorrow.

ICC Women’s World T20: India to meet Australia in the finals

The Indian Women’s Cricket reached their maiden T20 World finals after the first semi-finals against England was abandoned due to rain played at Sydney Cricket Ground, SCG on Thursday. Harmanpreet Kaur led side finished top of Pool A winning all their matches. It is a great achievement for the Indian women’s team as they performed brilliantly in the league stages. India started the group stunning the defending Champions Australia by 17 runs in the opening match played at Sydney Showground Stadium, Sydney on 21 st February. After their win against Australia, they defeated Bangladesh by 18 runs on 24 th at WACA Stadium, Perth. It was a superb performance by India as they held their nerves to beat New Zealand by 3 runs in their 3 rd match played at Junction Oval, Melbourne on 27 th February. Malaysia Open 2025 Day 3: Disappointing Outing For Indian Shuttlers

  The Indian shuttlers had a disappointing outing as only one of them made it into the quarterfinals of the Super 1000 Malaysia Open 2025 played at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur on 9 th January. HS Prannoy, women’s doubles pair of Tressa Jolly suffered narrow losses while Bansod, mixed doubles pair of Crasto/Kapila, and other pair lost in a one-sided affair. Tressa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand suffered a heartbreaking loss to Jia Ya Fan and Zhang of China in three thrilling games. The Indian pair struggled in the initial phases of the first game trailing by 3-6 before taking 7 points in succession to put the pressure back on the Chinese pair. At the mid-game interval, the Indians had an 11-7 lead.
