Arctic Open 2025: Good Start For Indian Shuttlers

 

The two Indian shuttlers including Dhruv Kapila/Tanisha Crasto and young sensation Anmol Kharb entered into round of the Super 500 Arctic Open played in Finland on 7th October 2025.

Mixed Doubles pairing of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto cruised past their French opponents L Renoir and C Poginate in a dominating two straight game victory. They returned after recovering from an injury looking in sublime touch putting pressure winning with a comfortable scoreline of 21-9, 21-7 to move into the second round. They will face O Titov and Kantemyr of Ukraine.

Anmol Kharb produced the biggest upset defeating the sixth seeded Lin H T of Chinese Taipei in three games. The first game was a closely fought affair with both players fighting for each point. It ebbed and flowed right till the end before Kharb held onto her nerves to win the first game at 23-21.

Lin produced a dominating display in the second putting Kharb under pressure. She looked in great touch not allowing any chances for her winning it easily by 21-11 to force the match into the decider.

Kharb showed great spirit playing attacking badminton and won with a scoreline of 21-18 to move into round 2. The youngster looked impressive with her stroke play not allowing higher ranked Lin under immense pressure and winning the match eventually.

The likes of Lakshya Sen, Kidambi Srikanth, Kiran George, Tarun Mannellapli, S Subramanian, Tanya Hemanth will play their first round matches tomorrow.

1.      Dhruv Kapila/Tanisha Crasto defeated Renoir/Poginate (Mixed Doubles)- 21-9, 21-7

2.      Anmol Kharb defeated Lin H T (Women’s Singles)- 23-21, 11-21, 21-18
