Denmark Open 2025: Satwik/Chirag Enter SF, Lakshya Loses
The men’s
doubles pairing of Satwik/Chirag Shetty entered into the semi-finals while
Lakshya Sen suffered loss of the prestigious Super 750 Denmark Open 2025 played
at Odense, Denmark on 17th October.
Satwik/Chirag
Shetty made it into the semi-finals with a three-game win over Aridanto & Hidayat
of Indonesia. The first game began with both pairs fighting for each point
before the Indian pairing showed class with their smashes and not allowing the
Indonesian pairing any chances. At the mid-game break, Satwik/Chirag led 11-9.
After the
break, it was one-way traffic as Satwik/Chirag looked dominating winning the
first game comfortably by 21-15.
The second
game saw Indonesian pair showing their class putting Satwik/Chirag under
pressure. They kept making life tough as Indian pair made unforced errors. At
the mid-game break, Hidayat and Aridanto took a 11-7 lead. After the interval,
Indian pair fought back strongly to level the scores but few unforced by Satwik/Chirag
hitting the net allowed them win second game comfortably with scoreline of
21-18.
Satwik/Chirag
looked in sublime touch with smashes and not allowing any chances for their
opponents. At the mid-game break, Indian pairing had 11-8 lead. After the
break, despite some fight by Indonesian pair, Satwik/Chirag played attacking
badminton winning deciding game with scoreline of 21-16 to move into SF. They
will play the winner of Chen BY &Liu YI of China or T Hoki and Kobayashi of
Japan.
It was
curtains for Lakshya Sen as he suffered straight game loss to seventh seeded
Alex Lanier of France. Sen struggle right from the word go as he could not
manage after two tight games against Nyugen and Anders Anotsen.
