Denmark Open 2025: Satwik/Chirag Loses In Semi-Finals

It was heartbreak as Satwik/Chirag Shetty went down to Yuki Kobayashi and T Hoki of Japan in three thrilling games during the semi-finals of prestigious Super 750 Denmark Open played at Odense, Denmark on 18th October 2025.

The first game saw the Japanese pairing of Kobayashi and Hoki putting pressure on Indian pairing. Satwik/Chirag looked tentative with their shots as Japanese pair depended on their placements. At the mid-game break, Kobayashi and Hoki had a dominating 11-6 lead.

After the break, the Indian duo found rhythm with smashes putting Japanese pairing under immense pressure. The match ebbed and flowed as both pairs fought for each point. Kobayashi and Hoki looked to take the match at 19-17 before Satwik/Chirag produced the magic levelling the scores at 20-20. Japanese held onto their nerves to win first game by 23-21.

The second game saw Satwik/Chirag fighting back with their powerful smashes keeping the Japanese pair under immense pressure before taking a 11-7 lead at the break. After the break, Kobayashi and Hoki fought back strongly before Indian pairing made a stunning comeback with powerful smashes to take the second game at 21-18 to force the match into decider.

It was a closely fought start for both pairs in the deciding game as both pairs took alternate points. Satwik/Chirag looked impressive with their smashes putting Japanese pair under pressure. Kobayashi and Hoki fought back strongly to take four points in succession to take 11-10 lead.

After the break, Satwik/Chirag committed few unforced errors which the Japanese took advantage of it. Hoki and Kobayashi reached their first finals after a gap of 1 year with 21-16 scoreline in the third game.

Satwik/Chirag had a great run in the Super 750 Denmark Open winning good matches. They are almost certain to be a part of World Tour finals that will take in Hangzhou in December this year.

Satwik/Chirag would be looking to continue their brilliant run in the Super 750 French Open starting from 21st October 2025.

ICC Women’s World T20: India to meet Australia in the finals

The Indian Women’s Cricket reached their maiden T20 World finals after the first semi-finals against England was abandoned due to rain played at Sydney Cricket Ground, SCG on Thursday. Harmanpreet Kaur led side finished top of Pool A winning all their matches. It is a great achievement for the Indian women’s team as they performed brilliantly in the league stages. India started the group stunning the defending Champions Australia by 17 runs in the opening match played at Sydney Showground Stadium, Sydney on 21 st February. After their win against Australia, they defeated Bangladesh by 18 runs on 24 th at WACA Stadium, Perth.   The Indian shuttlers had a disappointing outing as only one of them made it into the quarterfinals of the Super 1000 Malaysia Open 2025 played at Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur on 9 th January. HS Prannoy, women’s doubles pair of Tressa Jolly suffered narrow losses while Bansod, mixed doubles pair of Crasto/Kapila, and other pair lost in a one-sided affair.
