BWF World Tour Finals Day 1: Impressive Start By Satwik/Chirag Shetty

The Indian doubles pairing of Satwik Ranki Reddy and Chirag Shetty began the BWF World Tour finals with a thrilling win over Chinese pairing of Liang Weikeng and Wang Chang in Group B fixture played at Hangzhou, China on 17th December 2025.

It was closely fought affair in the first game as both players fought for each point till 7-7. The Chinese pairing of Liang and Wang played attacking badminton keeping the Indian pairing under immense pressure to go into the interval break at 11-7. After the interval, it was one-way traffic as Liang and Wang won first game comfortably by 21-12.

The second game began on even keel as Liang and Chang took 6-3 lead. Satwik/Chirag fought back strongly to level the scores at 7-7. This time around, Satwik/Chirag Shetty took the advantage putting pressure on Liang and Wang to take 11-7 lead at the break. After the break, Indian pairing looked in comfortable position with 18-13 lead before Liang and Wang fought back strongly to display great fighting spirit taking the lead. The Indian pairing held onto their nerves winning the second game with 22-20 scoreline.

Both pairs fought for each point right from the word go in the deciding game till 9-9. The Indian pairing Satwik/Chirag took 11-9 lead at the break. After interval, Satwik/Chirag maintained pressure with smashes and lovely defense which put Chinese pairing in deep trouble. The Indian pairing put on superb display to win the deciding game by 21-14 to register famous win over Liang and Wang.

In other Group B of men’s doubles, Aaron Chia and Wooi Yik defeated Fajar Alfian & Muhammad Shohoibul Fikri in three thrilling games. The first game was a closely fought affair right from the word go as Alfian and Fikri won it by 24-22. Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik showed great fighting spirit to win next two games with scoreline of 21-18, 21-19.

Malaysian pairing of Aaron and Soh Wooi is currently at the top of Group B with points difference of plus 3 while Satwik/Chirag with 0.

Friends in the new college

The new college in which I am studying that is Indria Gandhi National open university(IGNOU) has been a great exprience for me as I have made 4 to 5 good friends with whom i go around these days. When I go to college i pick up them and also come with them in a metro. Sheeba, Prachi, Radhika and Sourabh and also other are my good friends. One day we played Chain and various other games that we used to play in the school days. When we met on the first day I also was not aware of them but when i knew them we became very good friends.
