All England Badminton Championship 2026 Day 3: Lakshya Sen Enter QF, Dhruv Kapila/Tanisha Crash Out

Lakshya Sen made into the quarterfinals of the prestigious Super 1000 All England Badminton Championship while Dhruv/Tanisha crashed out of the tournament played at Birmingham on 5th March 2026.

Lakshya Sen registered his first win over Na Ka Long Anus in a three-game thriller. The first game began with Long showing class in initial stages before Sen showed fighting spirit to take lead. At the mid-game break, Sen had a commanding 11-8 lead. After the interval, the star Indian shuttler continue to dominate keeping Long under pressure with 17-13 lead. Long fought back strongly with lovely smashes and drop shots to level the scores at 19-19. Sen held onto his nerves to win the first game by 21-19.

The second game saw Lakshya dominating his opponents putting enough pressure with smashes and drop shots. At the mid-game break, Sen had a commanding 11-4 lead. After the break, Sen looked to take game away before Long fought back strongly to take points in succession and level scores at 20-20. Sen committed few unforced errors before Anus won the second game with scoreline of 23-21.

Lakshya began the third game with aggression not allowing any chances for Anus. He looked sharp keeping his opponent under immense pressure. At the mid-game break, Sen had a commanding 11-5 lead. After the interval, it was one-way traffic as Sen won the decider by 21-10 to move into quarterfinals. He will face Li Shifeng of China.

The mixed doubles pairing of Dhruv Kapila/Tanisha crashed out because of an injury to Dhruv Kapila while hitting a smash against Tse and CM Tang of Hong Kong. Dhruv and Tanisha began the first game on a positive note before Tse and Tang put on excellent display of badminton putting Indians under pressure. The Hong Kong pair had a 11-7 lead at the break.

After the interval, Dhruv and Tanisha made a strong comeback to reduce the gap, also taking lead for the first time. It was a closely fought affair before Tse and Tang register 21-19 victory.

The second game saw Tse and Tang began on a positive note with initial lead before Indian pairing fought back strongly. It was closely fought affair as Dhruv felt pain in the back during last few rallies and had to retire hurt with scoreline 8-9 for Hong Kong pair.

Friends in the new college

The new college in which I am studying that is Indria Gandhi National open university(IGNOU) has been a great exprience for me as I have made 4 to 5 good friends with whom i go around these days. When I go to college i pick up them and also come with them in a metro. Sheeba, Prachi, Radhika and Sourabh and also other are my good friends.
