All England Badminton Championship 2026 Day 4: Lakshya Sen Storms into Semi-Finals

Lakshya Sen produced a masterclass performance getting past rid of World number 6 Li Shifeng of China in two straight games during quarterfinals at the prestigious All England badminton championship 2026 played at Birmingham on 6th March.

Sen looked in sublime touch right from the word go putting enough pressure on Li with smashes and drop shots. It was a superb display of badminton by the star Indian shuttler keeping his opponent on the backfoot. At the mid-game break, Sen had a commanding 11-6 lead. After the break, Li Shifeng fought back strongly with lovely smashes.

Both players were involved in long rallies. Sen moved on the court swiftly as compared to his opponent Li. There was a 65 long shot rally which went to Li Shifeng. Li fought back strongly to reduce the margin at 13-15. Lakshya dominated his opponent keeping the momentum going and won first game comfortably at 21-13.

The second game saw both players fighting for each point with long rallies. It was a closely fought affair with Li Shifeng showing his class after a disappointing first game. Sen looked completely focus moving swiftly on the court as he took a slender 11-10 lead at the break.

After the interval, Sen defense looked solid and made sure that Li Shifeng had no chances of winning this match. Li Shifeng missed a golden chance but hit it out to give Lakshya the second game by 21-16 and move into the top 4 stage of the prestigious All England Badminton championship 2026.

It will be his third All England badminton semi-finals appearance. Sen made into the finals of 2022 edition while qualified for the top 4 stage in the 2024 edition of this prestigious event.

Lakshya will face Victor Lai of Canada in the semi-finals of this mega event today. Lai defeated Koki Watanabe 18-21, 21-17, 21-15.

4.      K Vitisdarn (Thailand) defeated Alwi Farhan (Indonesia)- 21-17, 21-12

Super 750 Malaysia Open- Indian contingent

 The Indian shuttlers will take part in the Super 750 Malaysia Open starting on 10 th January 2023. It promises to be an exciting tournament as the likes of PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, Lakshya Sen, and HS Prannoy would look to create a major impact. The tournament will end on 15 th January. England versus Australia 3rd T20I: Australia earn a consolation win

  The Australian Cricket Team registered a consolation win in the 3 rd and final T20I match played at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton on Tuesday. By virtue of this victory, Australia retained their number 1 ranked T20I side in the world.   Australian captain Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to field first. It could have been an ideal start for the visitors as Starc almost got Tom Banton out. The umpire gave it not out and Finch decided to review the decision but due to an inside edge, the decision was upheld.
