Indian Team For Thomas And Uber Cup 2026 Announced

 

The Indian Badminton teams for the prestigious Thomas and Uber Cup 2026 to be played in Horsens, Denmark from 24th April onwards has been announced.

A total of 5 matches will be played in the tie including 3 singles and 2 doubles. Lakshya Sen, HS Prannoy, Kiran George, Kidambi Srikanth & Ayush Shetty comprises of men’s singles while Chirag Shetty & RankiReddy, Amsakarunan & MR Arjun consist of doubles category.

Ayush Shetty earned his maiden call in the senior team after good performances in the BWF circuit.

Indian team has been clubbed in Group A along with power-house China, Canada and Australia. Lakshya Sen led side created history when they became the champions of this prestigious tournament for first time in 2022. They reached quarterfinals stage in 2025, but lost to eventual champions China.

Lakshya Sen, HS Prannoy, Kiran George, Kidambi Srikanth, Ayush Shetty, Dhruv Kapila, Chirag Shetty, RankiReddy, Amsakarunan and MR Arjun.

The Indian women’s team will be led by PV Sindhu and looking to showcase her skills. Apart from Sindhu, the women’s singles include promising youngsters including Unnati Hooda, Devika Sihag, Tanvi Sharma, Ishrani Burah.

Tressa Jolly, Gayatri Gopichand, Kavipriya Selvam, Simran Singhi and Tanisha Crasto consist of women’s doubles section. They have been clubbed in Group A along with hosts Denmark, power-house China and Ukraine. The top two from each group will qualify for the knockout stage.

It will be a huge challenge for the women’s team against two powerful teams. The Indian women’s team reached quarterfinals, but lost 0-3 to Japan.

PV Sindhu, Unnati Hooda, Devika Sihag, Tanvi Sharma, Ishrani Burah, Tressa Jolly, Gayatri Gopichand, Kavipriya Selvam, Simran Singhi & Tanisha Crasto

Both Indian teams would be looking to prove their worth at the big stage and help to go the distance against world best teams.
