Orleans Masters 2026 Day 4: Two Indian Shuttlers Enter SF
It was
another good day for Indian shuttlers as Tanvi Sharma and Ishrani Burah entered
the semi-finals of the Super 300 Orleans Masters played at Orleans, France on 20th
March 2026.
Tanvi
Sharma produced a dominating display to defeat sixth seeded Nidara of Japan in
two straight games. The first game saw Tanvi showing her class putting the
Japanese under pressure. She made life tough for her opponent and won first
game comfortably by 21-14.
The second
game saw closely fought affair initially before Tanvi put on excellent display
of badminton and not allow any chances for her opponent. At the mid-game break,
Tanvi takes a 11-8 lead. After the break, Japanese tried her best, but Tanvi stepped
up her game to win with a comfortable 21-14 scoreline. She will face Nozomi Okuhara
of Japan in the SF.
Ishrani
Burah defeated counter-part Malvika Bansod in two straight games. It was
one-way traffic for Ishrani who put on superb display of badminton keeping Malvika
under pressure and winning the first game comfortably by 21-9. The second game saw
Burah continuing her domination and not allowed any chances for her opponent.
With the scoreboard reading 15-7 for Burah, Malvika decided to retire hurt due
to an injury. Burah will face Opatniputh Pitchamon of Thailand.
However, it
was curtains for the men’s doubles pair of Hariharan Amsakarunan and MR Arjun
as he they lost to 3rd seeded B Maulana and Carnando of Indonesia in
two straight games. The first game was a closely fought affair with both
players fighting for each point. Amsakarunan and Arjun gave a tough fight
trailing 11-12 before Maulana and Carnando never looked back to win first game
by 21-12.
The second
game was a closely fought affair as both pairs showed class. After the break,
both pairs kept taking alternate points before Maulana and Carnando took 2nd
game by 22-20 to move into SF.
