Swiss Open 2026 Day 1: Two Indian Doubles Pair Enter 2nd Round

It was a good outing for the Indian shuttlers as Satwik/Chirag and Amsakarunan/MR Arjun entered 2nd round of Super 300 Swiss Open played at Basel, Switzerland on 10th March 2026.

H Amsakarunan and MR Arjun won their first-round match against Chinese Taipei opponents Chen Z-r and Lin Y-C in two straight games. The Indian pairing looked in complete control during the first game putting pressure on their opponents before winning it easily by 21-16. The second game saw both pairs fighting for each point. It ebbed and flowed till the end before Amsakarunan and Arjun won by 24-22 to move into the second round. They will face Chen C-k &Lin B-w of Chinese Taipei.

After a disappointing first round-exit in the All-England badminton championship, SatwikRanki Reddy and Chirag Shetty defeated Wesley Koh and J Kubo of Singapore in two straight games. It was a decent start for the Indian duo with lovely smashes putting Singapore pair under pressure. At the mid-game break, Satwik/Chirag led 11-9. After the break, Koh and Kubo fought back strongly to reduce the lead at 1 point at 15-16. Satwik/Chirag held their nerves winning first game by 21-19.

The second game also saw Satwik/Chirag showing their glimpses with attacking badminton and putting Koh and Kubo under pressure. At the mid-game break, Indian duo had 11-8 lead. After the break, Koh and Kubo showed resistance to take points in succession, but Satwik/Chirag held onto their nerves winning second game with 21-19 scoreline. The number 1 seeded Satwik/Chirag will now face Okamura and Yamashita of Japan.

With the scoreline reading 7-13 in favor of Hu L-f and Jheng Y-c, Tressa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand retired hurt.

Ayush Shetty, HS Prannoy, Srikanth Kidambi, Tharun Mannepalli, Unnati Hooda, Malvika Bansod, Tanvi Sharma, Rohan Kapoor/Shivani Gadde, Dhruv Kapila/Tanisha Crasto will play their first round matches today.

Super 750 Malaysia Open- Indian contingent

 The Indian shuttlers will take part in the Super 750 Malaysia Open starting on 10 th January 2023. It promises to be an exciting tournament as the likes of PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, Lakshya Sen, and HS Prannoy would look to create a major impact. The tournament will end on 15 th January. PV Sindhu will make a comeback into the badminton circuit after recovering from an injury that she suffered during the Commonwealth Games 2022. She will start her journey against Carolina Marin in the first round. Saina Nehwal will face Han Yue of China in the first round. England versus Australia 3rd T20I: Australia earn a consolation win

  The Australian Cricket Team registered a consolation win in the 3 rd and final T20I match played at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton on Tuesday. By virtue of this victory, Australia retained their number 1 ranked T20I side in the world.   Australian captain Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to field first. It could have been an ideal start for the visitors as Starc almost got Tom Banton out. The umpire gave it not out and Finch decided to review the decision but due to an inside edge, the decision was upheld.
