India no 1 in the ODI rankings

India have become the no 1 side in the ODI rankings today after India defeated England by 7 wickets and Newzeland defeated South Africa by 1 wicket in the 1st ODi in the three match ODI series today. In Ranchi which hosted the 1st ODI India won the toss and elected to bowl. The bowlers responded well by bowling a great line and length restricting them to low score of 155 with all the bowlers chipping wickets at regular wickets. When India came to bat they lost the wicket of Rahane but Kohli was getting back in superb form by scoring 77 and getting the man of the match award. The Indian team has taken 2-1 lead in the series with 2 matches to played at Mohali and Dharamshala. Lets hope that india can win the both of the matches and keep the no 1 ranking in their pockets. In Paarl Newzeland won the toss and elected to field. The bowling was great and the bowlers bowled wonderfully keeping them to low 208 all out due to the hitting of Klendvit. what the indian need to improve in the upcoming series against the england

In the recently concluded series against the Pakistan the batting has been a failure with only Dhoni performing with the bat scoring 203 runs the second highest scorer of the series behind the Pakistani opener Nasir Jamshed. The first ODI saw the team reducded to 29 for 5 in 10 overs but after dhoni played a captian knock of 113 to give india a respectable score of 227 for 6.  Despite that The Indians lost the match by 6 wickets. In the 2nd the batting let down again leaving them reeling at 95 for 5 chasing 250 and finally lost the match by 85 runs and in the last match of series in Delhi the team was all out for 167 in 43.4 overs but their fielding and bowling won their match by 10 runs. In the upcoming series starting from the 11th january in Rajkot the batting needs to improve a lot with openers needed to provide a solid start so that the players like Yuvraj, Raina, Dhoni can end the innings with a bang. The bowling has been a fine with Bhuvenswar Kumar , Ishant Sharma, Shami A...

End of dissapointing year 2012 for indian team

In the year 2012 for the Indian cricket team which has won the cricket world cup in 2011 the  performance in 2012 has been a not great one in either of format. In tests india had played nine winning 3 losing 5 and drawing 1. The biggest disappoinment was when the Indian team lost the English team in India which is considered to the plus point for the team, they lost a series after 8 years. The year saw the retirement of the greats like Laxman, Dravid and the master blaster who retired from the ODI cricket. The biggest problem that the Indians had that the big players and team was not able to perform as a unit. The batting was not up to mark and bowling was not to that class of South Africans who has Dale Steyn, Morkel, Philander and Imran Tahir. That is why the Indian team is at number 5th. At one stage the team was on the number 1 rank. In the ODI there were some individual brilliance like Kohli who scored 183 against Pakistan in the Asia Cup but did not qualify for the finals ...

Can India regain the no 1 status in tests

India can regain the number 1 test status with 8 test matches to played in India against the strong English and The Aussies side. First staring with the English side who played well in the warm match against the India A side who didn't field a spinner in the side, despite that Yuvraj Singh the comeback man who was suffering from cancer had taken 5 wickets and scored 59 runs while batting first. India should select the best possible team to counter the threat of Anderson, Broad, Finn and the world's top spinner Graeme Swan. The Indian team for the first test match should be Gambhir, Sehwag, Rahane, Virat, Yuvraj, Raina, Dhoni, Ashwin, Zaheer, Irfan Pathan, Umesh Yadav,Harbhajan, Pujara,Pragyan  OJHA, Dinda. The Indians should practice well in the camp from 9th to 11th and then do their best to inflict the same result that was dished to the Indians in England that ie 4-0 because of that we lost the number 1 rank in test. As an Indian fan I love to see spinning tracks which would...

The T-20 world cup set to begin on 18th september

The fourth edition of the T-20 world cup is set to begin on the 18th of september and finish on the 7th of October. There are 4 groups of 3 teams each out of which 2 from every group will qualify for the super eight. This should be the most fantastic tournament as the minnows like Ireland , Afghanistan will try to knock the big teams out of the tournament.  The 4 groups are as follows Group A: India, England, Afghanistan  Group B: Australia, Ireland, West Indies Group C: Sri Lanka, South Africa , Zimbabwe Group D: Pakistan, Newzeland , Bangaldesh I think the Indians can bring back the cup because the team has a strong batting line up as sehwag, Kohli, Raina, Dhoni, Yuvraj but the main problem lies with the bowling line as they can concede crucial runs. Pakistan are also tagged as the favorites to win this cup as they have a good bowling line up. So lets that this world cup can bring surprises and should be a very good, competitive tournament

They picked 4 quick wickets to reduce the score to 52 for 4 but after that the Indians somehow lost the plot and allowed them to score a really competitive total of 225 for 8 after 50 overs. The star of Indian bowling was Harmeet Singh. Throughout the tournament the bowling of Indian team was great picking up crucial wickets at the start and the fielding standard was top notch. When the Indians came to chase the target of 226 to win the title. The innings got off to a bad beginning losing the wicket of Prashant Chopra, then the partnership of Baba Aparjtih and captain Unmukt Chand scored freely. At 98 for 4 after 25 overs the Indians chase looked shaky and after that came the innings of tournament of the captain who score 111 not out and with smit patel scoring a vital 62 made the chase possible.
