Impact of T-20 on Indian cricket

Since the inception of T-20 cricket in 2005 the impact of T-20 format on Indian cricket   has been great. Different T-20 leagues across the world has led to many changes in the attitude of the players. T-20 has made the batsman more fearless, play more innovative strokes and lead many huge scores in ODI cricket. Few years back the scores of 240 to 250 in one day interantional was defendable but now with more T-20 being played the scores 300 to  350 is considered not safe. The likes of Sanju Samson, Akshar Patel, Karun Nair and other young Indian talent have got an exspoure to play with the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid and learning the tricks of game The T-20 format especially the Indian Premier league has attracted more and more crowds in the stadiums. The people love to see the batsman hitting fours and sixes enjoying the match. The crowds come to watch and love to see exciting matches going to the last ball. Sachin Tendulkar- Role model for youngsters

Sachin Tendulkar who has done the country proud by playing for 24 years has been inspiration for the younsgters and whenever he stepped on the field people expected him to score runs and he played according to people expectations was remarkable achievement. Scoring 100 centuries is not easy and it needs a super human effort to cross this record. His humbleness, dedication and play for country makes him ambassador and role model for youngsters.  International Cricket In 1999 when Sachin Tendulkar's father died during the World cup, he showed his dedication to play the world cup by making a quick returns after attending the funeral of his father. This was amazing as it shows the commitment and dedication for the cause of country despite near catastrophe at home. This was the first incidence that stuck me. In 2011 after winning the 50 over world cup in his home crowd and the way people cheered for him, the youngsters lifting him on their  shoulders was an amazing scene which ...

The Opinions and discussions of the Indian team performances outside India has been the talk of the media.  Indian team's performances in test matches outside country has been pathetic . The dependable and best batsmen like Pujara, Kohli  failed in the recently concluded England tour. The pace bowling does not meet the international standard. However the Indian team performance in shorter format (ODI and T-20) has improved due IPL. My SWOT analysis of Indian team ahead of challenging season is as following. Strengths   The Indian team has the potential to do well in batting department .As we look at the openers we have Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma, Ajiyanka Rahane and Murali Vijay. Among the four of them Shikhar Dhawan and Vijay will be my openers in longer format and in the shorter format Ajiyanka Rahane and Dhawan are best persons to do the job. For the next three slots the contenders are  Kohli,  Raina, Rohit, Pujara, Sanju Samson, Ambati Rayudu. For me...

India trash England to seal series

India trash England by 9 wickets in the fourth ODI at Edgbaston and the seal the series 3-0 with one match to go. This was a one sided affair as India dominated the home team from the start. Their last series win came in 1990. The Indian team won the toss and elected to bat. England began off to a bad note losing wickets in the first 10 overs which really made the work of their batsman more difficult. After that Morgan and Root put an 80 runs partnership but after that wickets fell at regular intervals. Jadjea picked 2 wickets, Raina 1, Shami 3, Bhuvneshwar Kumar 2, Ashwin 1 and 1 run out. The Indian team bowled good line and lengths which never allowed the England batsman to settle and rocked them at top. The only positive from England view was Moeen Ali who played a good 63. Apart from that the England team would have struggled to get 150. The fielding off the Indian was great saving runs. India batting made light work off the total chasing in 30.3 overs. Shikhar Dhawan was not ...
