US Open Badminton 2025: Ayush Shetty Becomes Champion, Tanvi Sharma Finishes Runners-Up

  The rising Indian shuttlers Ayush Shetty became the champion while Tanvi Sharma finished runners-up in the Super 300 US Open Badminton Tournament played at Council Bluffs, Iwoa, United States of America on 29 th June 2025. Ayush Shetty defeated Brian Young of Canada in two straight games. Brian began the first game on a positive note putting pressure on Ayush. After initial struggle, the 20-year-old Ayush showed intent with lovely shots with a 11-6 lead at the mid-game interval. Brian Young made strong fightback to level the scores at 16-16. Both players fought for each point before Ayush won the first game by 21-18. Ayush began the second game on a positive note with attacking shots not allowing any chance for Brian. It was a dominating performance by the 20-year-old Ayush with 11-6 lead at the break. US Open Badminton 2025: Indian Youngsters Shine

  It was a historic moment for Indian badminton as Ayush Shetty and Tanvi Sharma reach the finals of the Super 300 US Open tournament played at Council Bluffs, Iwoa, United States on 28 th June 2025. Ayush Shetty stunned top-seed Chou Tien Chen of Chinese Taipei in three thrilling games. The first game was a see saw battle with both players fighting for each point before the experienced Chou held onto his nerves to win it 23-21. Ayush then showed his class putting Chou under pressure in the second game. He looked in control right from word go winning it easily by 21-15. It was another dominating display during the third and deciding game also with Ayush keeping consistent pressure with smashes to win it easily with scoreline of 21-14. FIH Pro Hockey League 2024/25: India Suffer Second Loss To Netherlands

  The Indian men’s hockey team suffered a narrow loss in their 2 nd match against Netherlands played at Amsterdam on 9 th June 2025. It was an ideal start for the visitors as Abhishek missed a golden chance as the shot went wide off goal post. Both teams showed their class with end-to-end hockey, but defence was solid enough. Netherlands earned penalty corner but could not convert it into a goal. At the end of the first quarter, the scores remained 0-0. Netherlands began the second quarter piling pressure on the Indian team. India earned their first penalty corner as the shot from Rajkumar Pal went wide. Abhishek produced a powerful stroke inside D leaving Netherlands goalkeeper in shock giving India 1-0 lead in the 20 th minute. FIH Pro Hockey League 2024/25: India Loses To Netherlands

  The Indian men’s hockey team started the 2 nd leg of the FIH Pro Hockey League 2024/25 with a narrow to Olympic Champions Netherlands played at Wagner Stadium, Amsterdam on 7 th June 2025.   India began the first quarter with an attack right away putting pressure on Netherlands defence. Both teams tried to score early goal, but defence looked strong not allowing any chances. Indian team kept the possession, not able to go past Netherlands defence. At the end of the first quarter, the scores remained 0-0. Harmanpreet Singh scored from India’s first penalty corner in the 19 th minute giving 1-0 lead.   Soon after, Netherlands Van Dam scored a superb field goal in 25 th minute helping the hosts level the scores at 1-1.   The dynamic Indian duo of Satwik/Chirag lost to Man W C and Tee KW of Malaysia in the quarterfinals of the Super 1000 Indonesian Open 2025 played at Jakarta on 6 th June. Both pairs started the first game on a positive note keeping pressure on each other. Tee and Man showed their aggression with smashes and putting Indian pair under pressure.
