IPL 2021: England explosive opener to feature for SRH.

  In a major signing, Sunrisers Hyderabad has signed England explosive opener Jason Roy for IPL 2021. After Mitchell Marsh decided to opt-out for fatigue in Bio-secure bubble season, the franchise decided to sign the explosive opener. Under the captaincy of David Warner, Sunrisers Hyderabad reached qualifier 2 last year losing to Delhi Capitals in a closely fought encounter. With Jason Roy coming into the squad, it will strengthen their batting line-up. Australian explosive opener David Warner, Bairstow, Saha are the other three openers. Sunrisers Hyderabad has been a consistent team in IPL so far. Under the captaincy of Warner, SRH won their maiden title in 2016 beating Royal Challengers Bangalore. They made their IPL debut in 2013, they failed to qualify for the playoffs only twice. Since 2016, SRH made it into the playoffs stage every time.   After a successful season against Australia away and England at home, the explosive left-handed Rishabh Pant has been appointed the captain for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2021 starting from 9 th April. Shreyas Iyer who injured his shoulder while fielding during the 1 st ODI against England at Pune went off the field and was ruled of the entire series.   The Indian Cricket Team defeated England in a high scoring decider played at the MCA Stadium, Pune on Sunday. England stand-in captain Jos Buttler won the toss and decided to field first. It was an aggressive start by Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan looked in sublime touch right from the word go. Dhawan timed the ball brilliantly putting the pressure back on the England bowlers.   It was a disappointing day for the Indian shuttlers as only one out of the 4 shuttlers made it into the finals of the Super 100 Orleans Masters played in Paris, France on Saturday. India’s challenge in the women’s singles ended as Saina Nehwal lost to lower-ranked Danish player Line Christophen of Denmark. It was a disappointing performance by the Indian who looked out of sorts. In the opening game, both players fought for each point till 9-9. The Danish took 2 points in succession to take an 11-9 lead at the interval. After the break, Line played with aggressive intent putting pressure on the Indian winning the first game by 21-17. The unseeded pair of Krishna Prasad Garga and Vishnu Vardhan Goud Panjala stunned the Popov brothers in a thrilling three games. It was a closely fought first game initially as the Indian took a decent lead before the Popov brothers made a strong comeback. At the mid-game interval, Garga and Vishnu took an 11-10 lead.   The top Indian shuttlers Kidambi Srikanth and Saina Nehwal moved into the next round of the Super 100 Orleans Masters played at Paris on Wednesday. Kidambi Srikanth had no problems defeating Chem June Wei of Malaysia in two straight games. The Indian started the opening game on an aggressive note putting the pressure back on Malaysian.   The top Indian shuttlers including Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth moved into the next round of the Super 100 Orleans Masters played in Paris on Tuesday. After receiving a bye in the first round, Kidambi Srikanth defeated his Indian counterpart Ajay Jayaram in two straight games. Srikanth faltered in the first round of the prestigious All England Badminton Championship tournament that was played last week.   The Indian selectors have announced its 18-member squad for the 3 match ODI series starting from 23 rd March 2021. These matches are a part of the ICC ODI Super League tournament. Virat Kohli will lead the side while Rohit Sharma has been named as the vice-captain. Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul are the openers included. Surya Kumar Yadav who impressed in his first T20I innings has been given a chance to represent the country in 50 overs format along with Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant.   It was a mixed day as 3 Indian shuttlers made into the quarterfinals of the Super 1000 All England Badminton Championship 2021 played at Birmingham on Thursday. In the opening match at Court number 1, HS Prannoy lost to World number 1 Kento Momota in two straight games. The first game saw both shuttlers play attacking badminton putting the opponents under pressure. After the initial struggle, Momota was too strong in his defense and attack making life tough for the Indian. From 7-6 up, the Japanese took an 11-7 lead at the interval. After the break, Momota maintained the domination over Prannoy and won the first game at 21-15.
