Indian hockey team starts Europe tour with a thumping win over Germany
After a one-year gap, the Indian Men’s hockey started the Europe tour with a thumping 6-1 win over Germany played at Krefeld on Sunday. The Indian hockey team put the pressure right from the word go on the Germans. After creating lots of chances, India earned a penalty corner in the 13 th minute. Nilkanta produced a brilliant goal to give the visitors a 1-0 lead. In the next minute, Constain Saib leveled the score with a superb field goal. At the end of the first quarter, the scores remained 1-1. It was a superb start for the Germans putting pressure on the Indians and earned two back-to-back penalty corners in the first few minutes. The Indian goalkeeper made brilliant saves and created aggressive moves. Vivek scored two back-to-back goals in the 27 th and 28 th minute.
