FIH Pro Hockey League 2022: Indian women’s team began the tournament with a resounding win

 The Indian women started their maiden FIH Pro Hockey League tournament with a resounding win over neighbors China in the first match played at Muscat, Oman on Monday. It was a perfect start for the Indian team as Navneet Kaur converted from a rebound shot in the 4 th minute. India continued their domination over China and kept the pressure on its defense. China earned their first penalty corner but was well saved by Indian captain and goalkeeper Savita Punia. Sharmila drives an attack piling the pressure as Neha scored from a deflection in the 12 th minute to give India a 2-0 lead. Soon, India missed a golden chance with 2 versus 1 against the Chinese goalkeeper. At the end of the first quarter, India led 2-0.  The World number 10 th ranked T20I side West Indies stunned World number 1 England in the deciding match of the series played at Bridgetown, Barbados on Sunday. West Indies captain Kieron Pollard won the toss and decided to bat first. Kyle Mayers and Brandon King gave the hosts a decent start putting pressure back on the England bowlers. Mayers looked in sensational form while King took some time to settle. After a decent opening partnership of 59 runs, Romario Shepard was promoted at number 3 but failed to contribute any runs.  Perth Scorchers continued their domination as they registered an emphatic win over Sydney Sixers in the finals of BBL 11 played at Marvel Stadium, Melbourne on Friday.  The Australian women’s team began the multi-format Ashes series with their highest ever run-chase in the first T20I match played at Adelaide Oval, Adelaide on Thursday. Australian captain Meg Lanning won the toss and decided to field first. The England openers Tammy Beaumont and experienced Danielle Wyatt started cautiously before taking an attack on Australian bowlers. Under 19 World Cup 2022: All you need to know about tournament

 The 14 th edition of the prestigious Under 19 World Cup is about to start from tomorrow onwards in West Indies. Bangladesh is currently the defending Champions as they defeated India during 2020 Under World Cup held in South Africa. There are 16 teams divided into four groups. The matches will be played on 4 grounds namely, Guyana, Trinidad, St Kitts, and Nevis Patriots, Antigua. New Zealand has withdrawn from the tournament due to extensive quarantine restrictions due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The Super League quarterfinals will be played on the 25 th and 26 th  of January. From the 4 groups, the top two teams will qualify for the Super League quarterfinals while the rest of them will feature in Plate Group rounds.
