New number 1 ranked batsmen in latest ICC Test rankings
After the Test matches between India- Australia, and New Zealand- Pakistan, there have been changes in the latest ICC Test rankings announced today. Kiwis captain Kane Williamson overtakes Steve Smith to occupy the number 1 Test batsman rankings. He made 129 runs in the first innings of the first Test match played at Bay Oval, Mount Maunganui, and was named the man of the match award for his match-winning knock. The Indian captain Virat Kohli who is currently not featuring in the Test series remains at the number 2 position. After scoring 0 and 8 in the 2 nd Test match against India at MCG, Steve Smith slips down 2 places down to number 3. Marnus Labuschagne retained his fourth position with scores of 48 and 28 in the 2 nd Test match against India at MCG.
