  England continued their domination with a superb performance at the end of day 2 against Sri Lanka at Lords, London on 30 th August 2024. Starting on the overnight score of 358 for 7, Gus Atkinson began the day with 2 boundaries in the first over. He was given out by the umpire; on review, it was overturned to not out missing leg stump. Ashita Fernando got their first breakthrough by dismissing Ollie Pope with a simple catch to Madushka. Atkinson and Pope added 85 runs for the 8 th wicket. Gus Atkinson completed his maiden Test century off 103 balls. Atkinson showed intent to keep the scoreboard ticking along with Olly Stone.   England ended the first day of the 2 nd test match against Sri Lanka in a strong position at Lords, London on 29 th August 2024. Sri Lankan captain Dhananjaya de Silva won the toss and decided to bowl first. It was an ideal start for the visitors as Ashita Fernando and Rathyanke struggled against Duckett and Lawrence. Lahiru Kumara struck in his first over dismissing Lawrence with a beauty. Lawrence and Duckett added 33 runs for the opening wicket. Ashita Fernando got rid of England captain Ollie Pope trying to hit a big shot caught by Dhananjaya de Silva at square leg. Kumara bowled with great control troubling the England batters.   Pakistan named their playing 12 for the second Test match of the series against Bangladesh to be played at Rawalpindi on 30 th August 2024. The hosts Pakistan would be looking to make a comeback and level the series after a disappointing 10-wicket loss in the first test match. Abdullah Shafique and Saim Ayub would open the innings for Pakistan. Captain Shan Masood, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan &Salman Ali Agha would consist of middle-order batters.   Sri Lanka announced their playing XI for the second test match to be played at Lords, London from 29 th August onwards. The visitors suffered 5 wicket loss in the first test match at Old Trafford, Manchester. Dimuth Karaunate and Madushka would open the innings for the visitors. Madushka had a horrible outing being dismissed cheaply. Pathum Nissanka has been named as a replacement for Kusal Mendis. Angelo Mathews, Dinesh Chandimal, Dhananjaya de Silva& Kamindu Mendis comprise middle orders. Mathews and Chandimal scored half-centuries in the second innings. Kamindu Mendis scored well compiled century during 2 nd innings that helped Sri Lanka set a target of 205 runs. Ashita Fernando bowled brilliantly in the first test match, picking up 6 wickets.   Bangladesh registered their first-ever Test win over Pakistan on the fifth day played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi on 25 th August 2024. Starting on the overnight score of 23 for 1, Pakistan got off to a worst possible start as captain Shan Masood was dismissed by Hasan Mahmud via review. The umpire called not out, on review it was turned to out. Liton Das dropped a simple chance to dismiss Babar Azam off the very first delivery.   The England Cricket Team registered a close-fought 5-wicket win in the first test match against the spirited Sri Lankan team played at Old Trafford, Manchester on 24 th August 2024. Chasing down 205 runs to win, Ben Duckett and Dan Lawrence began off to a positive start before Duckett was dismissed by a lovely delivery from Ashita Fernando.   It was a great day of test cricket between England and Sri Lanka on the 3 rd day of the 1 st match of the series played at Old Trafford, Manchester on 23 rd August 2024. Starting on the overnight score of 259 for 6, Jamie Smith showed intent against poor bowling by Lankan bowlers. Gus Atkinson provided great support hitting boundaries and taking singles with ease.   The Indian men’s Cricket Team will tour England for a five-match Test series to be played in 2025. It promises to be an exciting series between the top two teams in the world. India drew the five-match test series on England soil at 2-2. India took a 2-1 lead before the fifth test did not take place as Indian players feared COVID. The series will be played from June till August. It will be a part of the 2025-27 ICC World Test championship cycle. The Indian team will start the series at Headingly, Leeds from 20 th June onwards, followed by the 2 nd match to be played in Edgbaston, Birmingham on 2 nd July.
