 Thanks to innovative batting Green, Usman Khawaja, and Alex Carey, Australia ended the 2 nd day in a strong position against hosts Sri Lanka played at Galle International Stadium, Galle on Thursday. The match started late due to heavy showers and wet outfield at 1.45 PM. It was an ideal start for the hosts as Dhanajaya de Silva got rid of Travis Head with a simple return catch.  It was another good day for the Indian shuttlers as PV Sindhu and HS Prannoy moved into the quarterfinals of the Super 750 Malaysia Open played in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Thursday. PV Sindhu defeated P Chaiwan of Thailand in three games. It was a closely fought first game as both players took alternate points.  The stage is set as the FIH Hockey Women’s World Cup 2022 is about to start from tomorrow onwards in Amstelveen and Spain. There are a total of 16 teams taking part in the tournament with the top team in each group will qualify for the quarterfinals. The 2 nd and 3 rd place in each group will play crossover.  The first day of the first Test match between hosts Sri Lanka and visiting Australian team saw spin playing a huge role played at Galle International Stadium, Galle on Wednesday. Sri Lankan captain Dimuth Karaunate won the toss and decided to bat first. Pathum Nissanka and Dimuth Karaunate got off to a decent start against Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins.  The England Cricket Team announced their playing XI for the 3 rd Test match against struggling New Zealand to be played at Headingly, Leeds from tomorrow onwards.
